The Beach Boys - Fillmore East - 1971

The Beach Boys
Fillmore East
New York, NYC
27th June 1971

This concert, recorded live on the closing night of the Fillmore East, demonstrates the Beach Boys at a time when their live performing abilities were possibly at an all time high (no pun intended).

The original group members of Carl Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine, are all part of the gig, however by this time Brian Wilson had stopped performing live, and Dennis Wilson could not play on drums due to an injury.

Running order is as follows:

Bill Graham Introduction 0:07
Heroes And Villains 3:53
Do It Again 2:52
Cotton Fields 2:42
Help Me, Rhonda 4:14
Wouldn't It Be Nice 3:00
Your Song 4:58
Student Demonstration Time 5:16
Good Vibrations 4:28
California Girls 3:29
I Get Around 2:31
It's About Time 3:50

Line Up:

Carl Wilson - vocals
Al Jardine - guitar, vocals
Dennis Wilson - vocals
Mike Love - vocals,
Bruce Johnston - bass, vocals
Daryl Dragon - keyboards, moog
Dennis Dragon - percussion
Mike Kowalski - drums
Plus horn section (sorry no details).

This is a really good stereo soundboard copy of the show.

Who sings lead on "Your Song" in this concert? Is it Carl? Al? Somehow it doesn't sound like any of the voices I'm so familiar with.

It should be Bruce Johnston singing "Your Song." - Nick
