Liam Duncan has released his new album 'If I Don't Feel Better' from which we have chosen 'Broken Hearted' to share. The theme for the album is based around a relationship ending, in this case Liam's personal experience, and what is impressive is the maturity regarding this, it's not a "poor me" outpouring of angst, rather an honest appraisal of a sensitive subject.
'Glitch' from Janice Prix might be based on a heavy and hardly uplifting subject, yet is a superb alt rocker, one that takes a challenging story line and turns it into something of an anthem, perhaps this is another definition for the term - juxtaposition.
Those Who Ride With Giants (aka MJ Callaghan) has just released 'The Walk of Thunder' an atmospheric alt rock instrumental that genuinely sounds like a full band performing, so much so that a genuine live ensemble is being assembled to take this music on tour.

Liam Duncan - Broken Hearted.
My name is Liam. I’m 22. I’m a songwriter, sideman, and mix/audio engineer. First and foremost: I’m releasing an album I worked on with my friends and with Howard Redekopp (Tegan & Sara, Mother Mother, New Pornographers, etc.).
I am very proud of this album and I hope you love it. In 2019, I’ll be touring this project heavily and making some more music. This album came out of a breakup. It’s an honest look at breaking up with someone, and how awful that can feel.
Song by song, I write about doubting a relationship that you’ve never doubted before, forcing yourself to deal with those doubts and learning to be honest with yourself and your partner.
For many years, I toured with a band called The Middle Coast. We started touring when I was 17, and toured 100-200 days a year until I was 22. With my two best friends, I toured Canada coast to coast, toured the U.S. a bit, and toured Japan. It was awesome.
I do a lot of work as a keyboard player – touring and playing with Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Begonia, Roger Roger, Jadea Kelly, Sweet Alibi, Don Amero, Sol James, Roman Clarke, Madelaine Roger, Lucas Roger, and others.
I do a fair bit of work engineering and mixing other people’s music. I’ve engineered, produced, or mixed for: The Middle Coast, Super Duty Tough Work, Don Amero, Sebastian Owl, Ali Atwell, Housepanther, Wrecker, Roman Clarke, Dylan MacDonald, and done tons of editing for a bunch of people. It’s fun. Mostly.

Janice Prix - Glitch.
Janice Prix formed in the small industrial town of Trollhättan, Sweden. Despite their passion early on, the local music scene didn’t exactly embrace their creative difference with open arms: one day, the band arrived at the studio to find fake obituaries of each member’s name nailed to the front door. But from performing at Berlin Music Week and being active in the Swedish Club scene, Janice Prix have successfully established a place for their unique indie-pop within a town traditionally dominated by metal and punk.
With dark choruses and pop sensibility, previous politically charged single ‘Waking’ is far from what their native town is used to hearing. The anthemic chorus and emotive lyrics make the political statement of the track even more profound. Inspired by the tumultuous narrative of refugees fleeing their war-torn homes, ‘Waking’ is a powerful testament to compassion and political awareness.
Janice Prix expand their sound further on new track ‘Glitch’ – an impassioned elegy for victims of violence from the perspective of a brutal murderer. A haunting piano opens before a reverb-drenched electronic beat kicks in. This ominous start is soon accentuated by an unnerving vocal and distorted guitar samples that drift in and out. With a Wembley-worthy chorus, ‘Glitch’ reaches stratospheric musical heights with lyrical content to match.
Elaborating on their new release, they said "It’s a song inspired by the tragic events taking place in our hometown of Trollhättan in 2015, where a man wearing a Darth Vader-esque mask killed students and teachers with a sword in racist attack. The lyrics revolve around the thought process within the mind of an assailant right after an attack. We wanted the melodies and gloomy soundscape to emphasize the concept of eternity and life sentence."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Those Who Ride With Giants - The Walk of Thunder.
Those Who Ride With Giants brand new single is entitled ’The Walk of Thunder’.
The “band” is really just one man – Sydney, Australia’s illustrator/animator/instrumental art rocker MJ Callaghan.
The multi-layered instrumentation and spacious atmospherics make these performances feel like a full band playing off each other in the same room at the same time.
As a result of the phenomenal support that the two previous releases generated, from tastemakers as influential as Spotify and Apple Music, and increasing popularity on a global scale, a live band has now formed and Those Who Ride With Giants are in the process of booking their first run of dates in support of the upcoming release.

The Black Watch - The Riptide Movement
The Black Watch have just released 'Mad' ahead of John Andrew Fredrick releasing his 17th full-length album 'Magic Johnson' as lead song-smith of the black watch. With a quick tempo and slick rock delivery, it's notable just how the fresh the piece feels, considering how much music has preceded the song.
Dublin's The Riptide Movement have just announced a London show at The Islington on Friday 4th October hot on the heels of their recent new song release 'I'll Be There'. The song is a vibrant indie rocker that's rather catchy to put it mildly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Black Watch - Magic Johnson.
An avowed Anglophile, author, English professor and irrepressible Los Angeles based songwriter John Andrew Fredrick is about to release his 17th full-length as lead songsmith of the black watch. 'Magic Johnson' is released in the UK through Atom records on the 8th of August 2019.
It reunites Fredrick with Scott Campbell (Acetone, Carina Round, Stevie Nicks), Andy Creighton (The World Record), and Rob Campanella (The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Tyde) released by Atom Records in the UK in August. Fredrick’s songs are infused with bittersweet sunlit vibes distinctive of what he calls a 'quintessentially LA record', yet its influenced by his love of 80s English post-punk, Flying Nun records, C-86 and the psychedelic works of The Beatles.
It's preceded by the lead single 'Mad' in June that's wry, infectious songwriting is a jangly, joyous celebration of a lover’s craziness, that's sideways romp stokes the distant embers of acts as disparate as The Wedding Present, The Go-Betweens and The Cure, yet remains distinctively the black watch a band due the attention they genuinely deserve in the country that inspired much of their sound.
In 2019, the black watch issues Magic Johnson, its 17th long player, the songs (and the subjects they cover) on the new TBW LP certainly are singularly varied, if not truly weird, eerie, strange: a dream reimagined from a Thomas Hardy novel (“Eustacia’s Dream”); a breathtaking story of male violence and desire from Elizabeth I’s reign (“April Fools”); a childlike exhortation applied to adult disappointments (“Upsy-Daisy”). Anti-love songs, lovey love songs, carpe diem lullabies, a pulsating rocker mocking LA posers and trendies and “Coachella hat chicks” who are “always lonely, though never alone.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Riptide Movement - I'll Be There.
Dublin four-piece The Riptide Movement are set to release their eagerly anticipated new single “I’ll Be There”
This song is an uplifting, energizing, guitar driven anthem with a massive chorus and is without doubt a return to form for the band. Co-produced in Attica Studios with the legendary Tommy McLoughlin (Villagers, SOAK) “I’ll Be There” could possibly be their best offering to date.
Complimenting this uplifting track is a 2D live action animated music video that was produced and directed by BAFTA award winning Jam Media.
With four studio albums to their name - most notably The RTÉ Choice Music Prize nominated, Gold selling, Number 1 Album “Getting Through” - The Riptide Movement are renowned for their phenomenal live shows and soaring, guitar driven, energetic tracks. Having toured extensively throughout 2018 on the back of critically acclaimed releases “All Works Out", “Elephant in the Room” and “Changeling”, a busy summer of festival appearances awaits.
“I’ll Be There” the brand new single from The Riptide Movement, is available on all streaming platforms and digital formats now.

Mathilde Fernandez - Chanteuse De Guerre.
Los Angeles record company Bordel Records is proud to announce the latest single from Mathilde Fernandez, "Chanteuse de Guerre", from her upcoming EP 'Back In Las Vegas'.
“Chanteuse de Guerre”, was born from the desire to create a monster. In mixing lyrical poetry laced with sarcasm and the absurd, Fernandez portrays a political icon who seduces and reassures the masses to face the horrors of the world. At the same time, she feeds on drama and misery to enhance her rhetoric while giving the impression of endless commitment.
The accompanying music video was produced in the city of Nezahualcóyotl, one of the largest slums in the suburbs of Mexico. Fernandez collaborates with Los Cogelones, a musical quartet of brothers who mix traditional instruments, Aztec songs and English punk rock. They play as music teachers and coach the military band of primary school students. Throughout their teaching Los Cogelones with to instill upon the younger generation values of discipline and collective work worthy of the heritage of their Aztec ancestors. Fernandez integrates her young War Singer into all of this, feigning political speech in a choreographed and terrifying kind of child's play.
"Chanteuse de Guerre" is the lead single off Mathilde Fernandez's EP 'Back In Las Vegas', out everywhere on September 20th.
Mathilde Fernandez is a singer and performer whose world combines dramatic visual arts, both living and plastic, is supplemented with powerful electro stylings and wild lyrical influences in her voice. As she began her multi media universe journey, Mathilde Fernandez enhanced her baroque universe with such collaborations such as Perez, La Femme, Casual Gabberz or Christophe. She released her first EP in December 2015 entitled Live in Las Vegas and “Hyperstition” in the Fall of 2018. Mathilde lives and works between Brussels and Paris.

Winona Oak - He Don't Love Me (Stripped).
Swedish born, LA-based artist Winona Oak releases a stripped down version of her debut single “He Don’t Love Me” via Neon Gold Records / Atlantic Records. The single comes accompanied by a stunning and intimate, live performance video as well.
Winona Oak introduces her debut single “He Don’t Love Me” as follows: “We’re all capable of falling for people who don’t value us, grasping for a leaving hand. But we must understand that we’re just as capable of realizing that our worth does not lay in those heavy hands.”
Born and raised in the Nordic forests of Sweden on a small crop of land called Sollerön - known as the Island of the Sun - Winona Oak is every bit as enchanting as her origin story. With a childhood spent encountering more animals than people, she grew up a trained horse acrobat and pursued creative expression however she could, writing poetry and songs from a young age. Born into a musical family, Winona sang throughout her youth and began playing violin at 5 years old and piano at 9 years.
After moving to Stockholm to pursue her passion for music, a leap of faith to attend Neon Gold Records’ writing retreat in the Nicaraguan jungle in 2017 led her to Australian electronic maestro What So Not. She would go on to co-write his next two singles "Better" and "Stuck In Orbit", eventually stepping into the spotlight as both the writer and featured artist on his 2018 single "Beautiful".
Last year, Winona Oak covered “Don’t Save Me” from fellow Neon Gold Records signees HAIM for the label’s 10 year anniversary compilation: NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold. The minimal production allows Winona Oak’s ethereal voice to shine through, slower than the original and drenched in ethereal melancholy. Now signed to Neon Gold / Atlantic Records and published by Warner-Chappell, she closed out 2018 collaborating with The Chainsmokers on their viral hit single “Hope”, co-written by Winona and featuring her stunning lead vocals, and currently boasting 250 million streams across all platforms globally.

Junaco - In Between.
Junaco is the foundation of Shahana Jaffer and Joey LaRosa. Born in the unincorporated mountain town on the outskirts coastal Northern California, the duo found an escape from musical conventions. Fleeing the rituals of rushing through songs, away from the nonsense of worrying, a budding partnership was found based equally on half-parts progression and melody. Mellow bursts of epiphany and pleas of gentle seduction give way to driving grooves in Junaco’s music, leaving the immediate fan with a delicate, instantly familiar and completely unassailable batch of songs.
Jaffer, a natural talent whose limbs were too long to dance, met a counterpart in LaRosa, a guitarist and percussionist’s dream who from a young age had been told that “musician” wasn’t an achievable career. Though conventionally unlikely on the global scale that a Pakistani songstress would find her way into the creative adventures of a drummer from Indianapolis, they found in their partnership a desire to make music for music’s sake; to write honest songs that meant something true enough for themselves, that someone else might be able to take it and make it true for them, as well.
The forthcoming EP helmed by Omar Yakar (War on Drugs, Perfume Genius) from Boulevard Recording, whose engineering and production prowess brought this young and refreshing outfit’s mountainous incubations to life. The duo initially set out with the intention of nothing but creation and expression and resulted in a stunning collection of tracks detailing the emotions of freedom. Jaffer reveals, “The underlying theme is about coming to terms with experiences and hardships we have faced and finally putting them out there. It’s very healing”.
Junaco hope to create music that will leave listeners feeling a sense of connection and closeness to. With the aim to remind others of our innate human emotions, Junaco’s debut EP highlights just how similar we are at our cores.

Little Church - Shiny Glide - Manwomanchild
We have the latest E.P from Little Church titled 'It's Not You' streaming in full below, it comprises of five songs opening with 'Last Night' a gorgeous track that typifies the bands music where various genres merge into a distinctive and refined band sound.
Shiny Glide (aka Antony Venneri) shares 'Innocent Moon' a beautiful, sweeping and natural ballad, accompanied by a fabulous video collage of old film and cartoon clips, that somehow add to the tenderness of this song.
It's been some time since Manwomanchild appeared here, that said 'Bellwether' is a welcome return, the lyrics are clever and the video suitably works alongside, the song is catchy, personal and very pleasing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Little Church - It's Not You (E.P).
On their latest release Its Not You, Little Church seamlessly merges rock, soul, layered psychedelia, and melody into their own unique form of art pop. Although a studio recording, the EP maintains a strong sense of live energy and showcases the bands musicianship - highlighted by Chelsea's soaring voice with a dose of purposeful edge against Christian's signature counter melody bass lines.
Little Church, the pop/soul/noise band from Chicago, took its name as a quote from a book that ultimately transformed into a metaphor for the band that occupies that name. Through their music, Little Church has connected spiritually and created a small congregation together. Bassist Christian Whiting explains that "[They’re] fairly tight-knit and thinks through the band were able to attain some spiritual fulfillment and we're really just one microscopic and localized part of the connection that the whole world has with music."
Through DIY venues and mutual connections, Little Church was formed within the Chicago music scene in 2016. When lead singer and guitarist Chelsea Foss-Ralston and bassist Christian Whiting first met, they realized they had a common musical vision and lived only four blocks away from each other - so they quickly jumped into songwriting together. It didn’t take them long to add the rest of the band members into the picture. Soon after Chelsea met drummer Khori Wilson at the DIY venue, the Dojo, the band's initial core was complete. Sean McConnell (synths) was later added in the spring of 2018 after serving as their mix engineer on the first Little Church recordings.
Once the band was fully formed, Little Church started coalescing their sound to what they now describe as "a smattering of art pop, rawk, soul, and gentle, gentle Eskimo kisses by a bear-shaped robot that can’t control its voltage." The inspiration and process for their writing and sound is a shared effort between Chelsea and Christian, often with a focus on the interplay between vocal melodies and bass countermelodies. Christian shares that they “primarily write songs built around vocals and bass and then built from there.” This allows them to highlight the primary movement and counterpoints before building the rhythms and textures. Not to be completely premeditative, the band still allows for spontaneous and unexpected elements to find a way into their writing by capturing effortless, fun and improvised moments that eventually get refined.

Shiny Glide (stage name of Antony Venneri) is a recording artist, poet, singer-songwriter, guitarist, music videos creator and stateless, charismatic figure with international experience.
Shiny Glide is pure music and inspiration, as free and natural as a gliding albatross. The music styles ranges from psychedelic rock to blues, from romantic and spiritual ballads to oriental and alternative music.
Shiny Glide is an international artist available for tours and festivals and always open to artistic collaborations and any kind of professional and spiritual support as long as it doesn't hurt peace of mind and creative freedom.

In March 2015, “The Difficult Years” was released.
