Jade Jackson - The Warp/The Weft - Burton Gaar - The Cravens - Jett Kwong

Image
Less than a month since sharing 'Bottle It Up' from her forthcoming 'Wilderness' album Jade Jackson returns with 'Secret' another fabulously crafted song, that raises anticipation even higher for what's to follow. It's almost two years since The Warp/The Weft appeared here, and with 'A Sun Filled Room' they are more than welcome back! Their modern take on folk music is tinged with the traditional past and yet roams between psychedelic and folk rock, this is a band that deserve wider attention. Black and Tan Records have shared some excellent blues songs from the late Burton Gaar . Blues fans from any era should gain some pleasure from this material and if the genre is not normally your thing, take a dip into this mans music, it is quite something. Grab your 'Early Bird Special' here as The Cravens have rediscovered some material from 2009, and not surprisingly shared it. Why? well this is a very fine collection of songs, it's

The Bambi Kills - BRIA - Davina and The Vagabonds - Vilde - WHY? - Skilton Avenue

Image
The Bambi Kills have released 'Sweet Love' a song that fulfils the electro grunge description given to them, and additionally throws in a good few hooks along the way. 'The Strangest Of Lovers' from BRIA mixes alt country and pop sensibilities together with class and style, her refreshing take on country music is splendid, to say the least. Davina and The Vagabonds new song 'Little Miss Moonshine' combine jazz, blues and bar room influences beautifully, this is simply addictive and oh so pleasing. As song titles go 'Oh, What A Mess You’ve Got Yourselves Into' is pretty impressive and Vilde doesn't let us down with the music, there's a hint of Thom Yorke but see that as a positive, this is a fine and genuinely alternative piece. Whilst on the subject of song titles WHY? ups the stakes even further with 'I may come out a broken yolk, I may come out on saddle' a track with just a little They Might Be Giants feel to it, again that

Sara Lew - Genuine Leather - Astari Nite

Image
We don't often link to Spotify however as it's my only source for Sara Lew and her fabulous new single 'Sunday Morning' from the album of the same name, I feel rather obliged to as her music is just so good! We have a couple of tracks from Genuine Leather 's new '2011-2019 Demos, Singles and Live' collection, the band sharing a fine mixture of songs along those lines, as the two we have selected should demonstrate. Astari Nite return to Beehive Candy for a sixth feature, the bands atmospheric mixture of Gothic and post punk vibes are present as ever, as is their consistent ability to write great new music. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sara Lew - Sunday Morning. Sara Lew has just released her new album ‘Sunday Morning’ and the title track from it is her new single an epic electro-indie exploration inspired by a visit to Scotland. Sara Lewis Sørensen, who

Freedom Fry - Alyssa Trahan - Space Museum featuring Ian Moss

Image
We have featured Freedom Fry a few times, the last being back in January when we shared 'The Seasons' EP. Now we have 'The Sun is Gonna Shine On You' EP, including a video for their superb French version of Elton John's 'Your Song'. Alyssa Trahan has released 'Petty' a song that has plenty of Nashville influences and a whole lot of feisty energy, she's described as having plenty of sass, well this song kind of endorses that, it's very catchy as well. Space Museum will release a mini-album called 'Nightmare on Glitch Street' on the seventh of June. The only song with vocals (by Ian Moss) is 'My Name Is Jim' a sort of homage to Jim Morrison with more than a little mischief. Focusing on the musical backdrop gives a hint of what to expect from the other tracks, but only a hint on this "out there" musical excursion.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HunBjørn - Zoe Konez - Thandii - Party Hardly - Secrecies - Cream with a K

Image
HunBjørn has released a video for 'All The Red' a gorgeous synth pop song where her distinct and dreamy vocals are matched equally by the beautiful musical backdrop. South London's Zoe Konez writes and performs personal and thoughtful music as is demonstrated by 'We Got Lost' a song that showcases her talent and concern for others in a very fine way. 'Honey' from Thandii doesn't take long to stand out as a beautiful song, the vocals are gentle and melodic and the simple musical arrangement allows them to glide above as the perfect focal point for this piece. Indie rockers Party Hardly were featured here a couple of times last year, now they make a welcome return with ' The Hopskotch Man' where once again their innovative and likable music is very hard to resist. Secrecies give synth music some depth and edge with 'Life We Live' an addictive song drenched in emotion and feeling. Finally today we have Cream with a K and the pas

Empathy Test - Danny Starr

Image
We have to go back to late 2017 for our last feature on Empathy Test , however the electronic pop band have returned with 'Empty Handed' a song that indicates the bands capability to produce synthwave music with a deeper edge, and as anticipated, to a very high standard. Danny Starr has shared 'Plastic Magic' a song that manifests personal earnestness, with a gorgeous musical arrangement and his outstanding vocals. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Empathy Test - Empty-handed. UK Electronic-Pop band Empathy Test is pleased to announce the release of their limited edition EP, Empty-Handed available on limited edition digipack CD, 7" vinyl and digital formats June 20! Fushia - Quarry - Famous - Llovers

Image
Fushia are twin sisters Mathilde and Nathalie, there new single 'Gold' matches their description of dreamy poetic pop, in addition I think it fair to say, you can add very catchy. 'Everything And Its Opposite' from Quarry is a feisty indie rocker, with intriguing lyrics and a clever video to match. Our first taste of Famous was in April with the very impressive 'Jacks House'. Now we have 'Forever' with the striking vocals grabbing my attention immediately, the band adding melody and a steady rhythmic beat. Llovers melodic indie rock is refreshing, the vocals and music are loaded with hooks, it's unsurprising that the band are getting plenty of attention both on line and on BBC radio. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fushia - Gold. Fushia consists of twin sisters Mathilde & Nathalie. Mathilde lives in Stockholm and Nathalie in London. Together th

Kluster - Jamie Lynn Vessels - Stop.drop.rewind

Image
We featured Kluster a couple of times in 2018 and now they return with 'Wild' an imaginative song that is hard to categorise in any one genre, it's creative and engaging nonetheless. Jamie Lynn Vessels has just shared 'Cloak and Dagger' a brooding rocker that builds with intensity and emotion, her simmering vocals are just right for natural rock songs. Another band who have been on Beehive Candy twice before are Stop.drop.rewind and their latest song 'Floating Stone' makes a third appearance inevitable as this expansive rocker comes fuelled with plenty of hooks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kluster - Wild. Kluster was founded by four friends and a virtual drummer in Malmö 2014, a real life drummer joined in shortly afterwards and the gang was complete. Since, the quintet has been active on as well the Malmö indie scene as playing shows in Berlin, Copen

SK - Sonia Stein

Image
SK has shared 'Nostalgia' a smooth and enticing mixture of soul and cool jazz and some beautifully natural vocals, giving the song originality and style. 'London Used To Feel So Cool' from Sonia Stein has one very catchy chorus line and a superb musical arrangement that allows every element to shine through. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SK - Nostalgia. It’s no secret that the sounds of Soul & Jazz, have crept back into the forefronts of our musical palette of late. A new wave of UK artists have been trailblazing the way for a modern twist on the retro genres, leaving fans guessing who the next big name on the scene could be.
