Sacred Buzz - Alex Amor - Josh Rouse - Jules Klee - Railcard - Futurebirds

Sacred Buzz - Lost Highway.

Sacred Buzz is a Berlin psych band known for their electrifying live presence and deeply immersive soundscapes. Their sonic palette bridges vintage and modern: garage‑rock grit, krautrock repetition, mesmerizing drones, and proto‑punk drive. On stage, Sacred Buzz conjures a psychedelic ritual: hypnotic drums, throbbing bass, fuzzy guitar reverberating like a lost transmission, droning organ, lo‑fi vocals and surreal lyrics that will rattle your heart out and drive your soul up to the 13th floor in a hazy dream-like vision.

Released today “Lost Highway” captures the feeling of being on the run, hunted by something you can't name, whether it lurks in the world around you or deep within your own mind. A driving krautrock rhythm is spiced with raw guitar and embellished by a brooding synthesizer.

A fuzzy, phased-out riff between verses evokes a sense of being chased with nowhere to run, before it all culminates in a climax that sounds like a speeding car, screeching brakes, and the sudden end of the road. Inspired by dark ambience of Joy Division and fueled with mind-bending imagery of David Lynch, “Lost Highway“ channels the paranoia simmering beneath the daily grind of modern city life.

Alex Amor - Inside.

Scottish singer-songwriter Alex Amor releases new single 'Inside' - the final preview of debut album 'Heavenly Bodies' - out 21st August via New York independent label VERO Music. Amor has also been added to the bill for All Points East's Lorde headline day on 22nd August.

The heartbeat of her upcoming debut full-length, 'Inside' is what Alex describes as "a sad-banger lullaby for loved ones gone too soon". A buoyant, guitar-led indie-pop anthem that finds her holding joy and grief in the same hand, "it takes a looking glass to the ugly, scared, and messy parts of my mind," Alex says - from reflections on a world "when friends aren't gonna overdose" to the fear that "if you get too close / I could lose you too".

Speaking more on the release of 'Inside', Alex Amor said: "It’s about coming to terms with compounded grief, generational trauma and taking a stark look at one of the coping mechanisms that defined much of my twenties: dissociation. Pulling away from connection altogether to avoid the pain of needing someone, missing someone, or losing someone. Part of love is accepting loss, making space for grief, and finding the courage to feel it all. It’s a song about connection, the choice to be vulnerable, and learning that the only way through grief is to let yourself feel it."

Originally written as a sprawling poem, 'Inside' arrived in the studio with producer Baz Kaye determined to preserve every word Alex had written. The result is a five-and-a-half-minute centrepiece that pairs some of Amor's most devastating writing to date with an irrepressibly uplifting energy, informed by the sense of optimism Kaye and co-writer Peter Brien carried back from that summer's Glastonbury Festival.

Josh Rouse - January Sky.

Josh Rouse has signed to New West Records and will release his label debut Museums and Women on October 23. The 10-song set was produced by Brad Jones, who also produced Rouse’s critically acclaimed 2003 album 1972. Museums and Women showcases Rouse at his most hopeful and romantic, balancing casual poetry and wry humor in equal measure as he conjures up a cast full of drifters and dreamers moving through life with quiet satisfaction.

The music is often bittersweet, with a gentle, seemingly placid surface that belies the deep well of emotion and memory and desire underneath. The result is a lush, cinematic exploration of the endless stream of passing strangers who slip in and out of our lives on a daily basis. He says, “I was drawn to these songs because they’re so observational. They’re full of characters and stories I dreamed up from little moments that sparked my imagination on the road. At the end of the day, though, it’s inevitable that I’m in there somewhere, too.”

The sessions for Museums and Women were quick and raw, with Rouse on guitar, Jones on bass, and Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, The Chicks) on drums. The trio would record live in the morning, cutting multiple songs in a row before returning in the afternoon to complete overdubs while the music was still fresh and new. “At a certain point, Brad had this folder full of recordings on his desktop, and he asked me what to call it,” Rouse remembers. “I suggested Museums and Women because it was the name of a John Updike book I’d always loved, and it just felt right for the kind of stories I was telling.” Indeed, Museums and Women is a particularly fitting title for a collection that observes its subjects from a reverent distance, elevating ordinary moments of human connection (or lack thereof) into gallery-worthy masterpieces.

Jules Klee - He Don't Know a Thing.

Chicago singer-songwriter Jules Klee, who as opened for and/or performed with Joe Pug, Colin Gilmore, John Fullbright, and the West Texas Exiles, released the single "He Don't Know a Thing" at the end of last week. "He Don't Know a Thing" is the first single from her forthcoming album, Roses on My Table, to be released in 2027. "He Don't Know a Thing" (and the album, overall) explores a love that endured distance, addiction, and loss.

Jules Klee is an Americana singer-songwriter, with a voice that knows when to soothe and when to bruise. Her voice can quiet a dive bar—and then carry it. Her songwriting is rooted in plainspoken emotional clarity: songs told without flinching,

“Jules Klee has a Chicago career of her own but shares a huge voice for harmony,” wrote No Depression. “She’s got pipes that rival Neko Case and Kelly Hogan,” added Time Out Chicago, “We don’t know her name.” The line lingered—less as a critique than a kind of unfinished introduction.

Her early work began quietly, through Chicago’s songwriter circles, earning a reputation for an arresting vocal presence that could shift a room without asking permission. “There’s a power and realness in her songs that’s hard to come by,” as stated by Colin Gilmore, fellow songwriter & friend whom Klee has recorded with, and joined on tour.

Railcard - Unstable Neighbour.

Today the UK's Railcard have shared 'Unstable Neighbour' as a further taste of their forthcoming album 'Two Steps At A Time.' Railcard made their live debut in December 2025 and had by then recruited their fourth member: Allison Thomson (Trash Can Sinatras, The Love Band), whose flawless trumpet and swirly keyboard-playing complete the Railcard sound, allowing the band to fulfil the significant ambition and range of the songs, which are mostly co-written and often co-sung by Love and Button.  “Flannelette” and “Sunday Sun”, delicate and swoony, could almost be Slapp Happy at their most Bacharach. “Foxy”, mysterious and charming, has more than a hint of Kate Bush December magic.

The raucous duet “I’m A Disaster” is The Kinks meets deadpan Shangri-Las. The title track could have been an alternative theme tune for Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads. “Runaround” is like a school choir doing The Raincoats. “Unstable Neighbour”, mesmerising and insistent: it might make you think of Stereolab; we might imagine an indiepop Hawkwind.  Peter Momtchiloff also contributes two wonderful songs on the album: the fragile and hallucinatory “Paper Thin” and the Love-meets-Undertones rush of “Hillman Minx”.

Two Steps At A Time is released on Skep Wax and Slumberland September 18th 2026. An exclusive Dinked edition of 300 copies including a 7 inch single with 2 additional tracks will be available at participating UK record stores. The band have a string of UK dates through the summer and Autumn and there will be a Bandcamp listening party for the album at 8pm (UK time) on September 16th.

Futurebirds - Pretty Eyes.

Today, the Athens, GA-born Futurebirds released “Pretty Eyes,” a cosmic country meditation on true love from the second half of their forthcoming double album Far Out Country II that will be digitally released September 4 via Dualtone Records.  In June, Futurebirds released the full 18-song collection exclusively on vinyl, while just the first 9 songs that comprise Far Out Country I arrived on streaming services.

About the song, Daniel “Womz” Womack explains, “‘Pretty Eyes’ is my most vulnerable song - a slow-burning surrender anthem about the less lofty side of love. It holds one of my favorite lines I’ve ever written: ‘You feel like it’s vanity anytime you cry, you’re challenging the universe.’ I blacked out writing it and when I came to it was written in my notes. It’s the feeling of being torn between self-protection and the relief of being truly seen – not just by someone you love, but by yourself. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever loved someone so much it felt like losing an argument with themselves.”

Later this month, Futurebirds will kick off the final leg of their album release tour with two hometown shows at the Georgia Theater on August 20 and 21, followed by an appearance an AmericanaFest and a run of dates supporting Trampled By Turtles. Futurebirds is Brannen Miles (bass), Carter King (vocals, guitar), Daniel Womack (vocals, guitar), Thomas Johnson (vocals, guitar), and Tom Myers (drums).

Henry James House - Lagan Dream.

We have the second single from the Cincinnati based artist Henry James House. After recording and touring in various incarnations under the name Pop Empire, House steps to the forefront of these recordings recording under his own name. Last Lights Off The Black West is a fascinating exploration of a distinctly American mode of soul-searching. A kind of Darkness at the Edge of Town / Last Picture Show glimpse of the vanishing natural world and fading American dream that seems to be the domain of Midwestern artist.

While possessing a distinctive Marc Bolan swagger and stomp, these tracks feel and sound haunted by a deep sense of ennui and spiritual hunger that undergird the Blues that House covers on Last Lights...Blues is a broad tent here that extends to the 19th Century Jesuit priest Gerard Manley Hopkins (God's Grandeur), Memphis Slim (Mother Earth), Rev. Thomas Dorsey (Rock Me) to The Jesus and Mary Chain (Living End) alongside seven of House's original compositions.

"Lagan Dream" is an immersive reawakening of a beloved traditional Irish air, blending a trip-hop foundation in the drum and bass, haunting vocals and keyboard layers, deliciously melancholy guitar, drums interplaying masterfully with drum machine, and smoky saxophone. The lyrics, which weave an excerpt from Alice In Wonderland into traditional verses, reinforce the dream-like atmosphere of the song

Samantha Harlow - I Gotta Go.

Welcome to the brave, new world of music, performance art, and cinema that is Samantha Harlow’s new project, By A Thread. Or rather, meet Veronica LaMorte, a dreamy-eyed lounge singer, murdered and then rebuilt by her mad scientist husband. Don’t worry, no spoilers here!

As a collection of songs alone, Harlow’s By A Thread, produced by Grammy-nominated, Dex Green, sonically leans into mid-century pop/rock n roll somewhere in the orbit of The Ronnettes and Nancy Sinatra. “I wanted to stretch out beyond Nashville country, and felt more drawn to the sounds of 60s girl groups, beach pop and surf sounds,” says Harlow.

But it wasn’t until the album was fully tracked at 3Sirens Studio in Nashville, that Harlow had a broader vision to create a companion short film series, where she stars as Veronica LaMorte, and takes inspiration from filmmakers like Ed Wood and Mel Brooks. The result is a Song Cinema collection exploring horror, humor, vulnerability and not being bound by societal norms.

Make no mistake, midwestern Harlow, raised in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota, is no typical “girl-next-door.” She may have spent Sunday mornings singing in church alongside a large extended family, but on other days found fascination with 80s hair metal and the oldies station. “I wanted to be Steven Tyler,” says Harlow. An artsy kid that enjoyed dressing up, Harlow went on to study classical and jazz vocal performance in college, followed by an intensive program at Martha’s Vineyard for songwriting and recording. The Sixth Installment of the By a Thread Series, “I Gotta Go,” Arrives July 22, 2026.

Alex Amor - Aquamarine.

Scottish singer-songwriter Alex Amor today shares latest single 'Aquamarine' - a new taste of her forthcoming debut album Heavenly Bodies, out 21st August via New York independent label VERO Music. Alex Amor today also announces an intimate in-store and signing at Rough Trade Denmark Street on 26th August. New single 'Aquamarine' began with an unlikely encounter in Los Angeles, where an oracle card reader told Amor she'd "find her answers near a body of water". That encounter led her to an impromptu recording session with Australian producer Matthew Neighbour (Role Model, Lord Huron) in his LA studio.

Built around burnished guitars, featherlight percussion and an easygoing Americana pulse filtered through modern indie-pop, 'Aquamarine' sees Amor look back on childhood summers along the windswept beaches of Scotland's west coast.

Speaking on the song, Alex said: "I was in LA on a writing trip and an oracle card reader at my hotel told me I'd find my answers near a body of water. So I did what all completely sane and rational people do: I listened to a random guy I'd just met. I ended up cycling to Manhattan Beach, where the first lyrics to Aquamarine came to me. Right after I wrote the lyrics, Matthew Neighbour saw on Instagram that I was in LA, invited me to his studio, and we finished the song during the final days of my trip. Sometimes, you just have to do things before they start making sense.

"The lyric 'west coast air' has a double meaning. It refers to LA, but also to growing up and spending my summers on the west coast of Scotland - especially around the peninsula of Carradale Bay. Aquamarine is a love song, but also an ode to that summer feeling: salt in your hair, wanting summer to last forever. When I think of my happiest moments, where I felt true freedom and peace, it's on those Scottish beaches: a child running around wild, being dragged out of the sea blue from the cold, never wanting to leave the ocean."

Futurebirds - Sober Somewhere.

Last month, the Athens, GA-born Futurebirds released their first-ever double album Far Out Country via Dualtone Records. In a physical-first rollout, the full 18-song collection was released exclusively on vinyl, while just the first 9 songs that comprise Far Out Country I arrived on streaming services. Today, the band announced that the second half of the album Far Out Country II will arrive digitally on September 4 and also released the album’s first single, “Sober Somewhere.”

About the song, Thomas Johnson explains: I wrote “Sober Somewhere” for my partner of 17 years. It’s about being in love and what that means over the course of so much time. Some things get stronger, some things fade. Daily life changes dramatically, and the threat of the road is always looming to drop a bomb in an otherwise peaceful lagoon of love. More than anything it’s a statement of commitment.  “Despite all that we’ve been through, and all that we’re sure to go through in the future, you can count on me being here for you and our family. To love and support, always.”

The first verse celebrates the strange and amazing relationship we have. As in, I don’t know how this works and I don’t know of any other like it, but I don’t think I could love you more. The second verse ruminates on the inevitability of growing apart, at least in some ways, over the course of such a long time, but being attentive and self-aware enough in those moments to reel each other back in and rediscover the fire that makes our love so special.

I actually wrote the bridge/outro years earlier than the rest of the song, but it’s also about my partner. It’s about wanting to be with her anywhere, doing anything, instead of being where I was at the time (in this case, a dive bar in Georgetown).  It touches on the challenges of balancing two things I love immensely (my lover and my music), trying to give both the nurturing they need and deserve without draining myself completely or going insane.

Lewis Jack Inman - Futurebirds - Octavian Winters - The J.O.B. - Sparkle Blood - Tom Emlyn - Hannah & Nathan

Lewis Jack Inman - The Squeeze (Album).

Leeds based musician Lewis Jack Inman returns with his 4th Album The Squeeze released today 15th May. Once again Inman's latest offering is another alt rock record perfect for fans of Courtney Barnett, Pixies and Queens of the Stone Age. True to his own style, it's a record that doesn't conform to predictable patterns, Inman takes you on a journey that makes complex themes and music seem simple with the guidance of his soothing vocals, a key trait in his solo work since 2019.

Since going solo in 2019, he's released 3 albums (Another Winter, Far Away and Fly) as well as numerous singles throughout that time. Lewis returned to the live scene in 2025 with a new live band formed up with two of the local scene's hardest working musicians Sam Green and Dan James. They quickly took the scene by storm with appearances at Lending Room and Hyde Park Book Club in the space of a few months

In late 2025, Lewis released the Fossilz Collection, a mix of his previous bands work containing material that still exists in his shows today plus recordings from live show recorded in Leeds

All of Lewis' previous releases have been solely recorded with him playing all instruments and whilst The Squeeze is no different in that respect, it is his first release he's self-produced too making it an entirely DIY record with no external contributions showcasing just how versatile an artist he is.

Futurebirds - Fly On.

Athens, GA-born Futurebirds unveiled the official video for their latest single “Fly On” from their first-ever double album Far Out Country that will be released on June 5 via Dualtone Records. The official video follows a casual antique store pit stop that quickly spirals into a transportive day trip, proving you don’t have to travel far to find a little Far Out Country.

Carter King, who wrote “Fly On,” explains, “Conceptualized and directed by Casey Pierce. This video shoot was a real blast. Getting let loose in a possibly-haunted antique store after hours? Felt like an episode of ‘Are you Afraid of the Dark.’ And the moral of the video: there’s no such thing as a free cookie!”

Last month, Futurebirds released Sienna Life EP, featuring three songs from Far Out Country I – “Sienna Life,” “Sleepless in the Cage,” and “Ghost Moon.” The release and double album announcement was met with praise from Brooklyn Vegan, Relix and Stereogum among others, who noted, Far Out Country "is both a title and a mission statement.” In a rare physical-first approach, the band will release the full project as a double vinyl on June 5, with the second half of the album arriving on streaming platforms months later, making vinyl the only way to experience the complete record early.

Fronted by three distinct singer-songwriters – Daniel “Womz” Womack, Carter King, and Thomas “Tojo” Johnson – the band writes in conversation, their voices shaped by a shared history but diverging perspectives. Across 18 songs, Far Out Country unfolds like an honest dialogue about their transition to fathers and family men navigating the tension between the road that made them and their lives back home

Octavian Winters - By the Stars.

Octavian Winters have unveiled a dreamlike new single, ‘By the Stars’, ahead of Wave-Gotik-Treffen appearance. Highlighting the lush, otherworldly side of the band’s repertoire, ‘By the Stars’ is the swooning new pop ballad from San Francisco’s Octavian Winters: a beautifully delicate contrast to the dark, angular post-punk of previous single, ‘Elements of Air’.

Produced once again by William Faith, and released via Stratis Capta Records just ahead of the band’s appearance at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Germany, ‘By the Stars’ moves with a slow, dreamlike pulse: toms beating softly under glimmering melodies, like distant heartbeats under an endless night sky. Lyricist and frontwoman Ria Aursjoen says:

“The song has the feel of a sea voyage. The images for me were always ones of the vastness of the sky and the sea, and the feeling of the magnificent beauty of the world. The call and answer vocals are like two people calling back and forth across a valley. It’s meant to encompass that feeling of transcendence when you take a meta view of life and of the natural world, and just fall into the beautiful patterns of it all.”

Remarking on the song’s significance both to the band and their audience, drummer Randy Gzebb adds: “I remember playing an all-ages show in Northern California, looked up mid-song and saw these two young goth girls at the front of the stage with tears streaming down their faces. That moment told me everything I needed to know about ‘By the Stars’. You know a song matters when it reaches people like that.”

The J.O.B. - Light Up A Room.

Richmond VA rock band, The J.O.B. have released a new single, Light Up A Room. It’s their fourth individual track of a string of singles to be dropped over the next many months, all destined to appear on the band’s upcoming vinyl LP.

Light Up A Room was recorded at Absolute Future Studios in Richmond VA with producer Jamie Rose (Vulcanite, Book Of Wyrms) again at the helm.

“Light Up A Room is an upbeat tune about finding one’s true love and the hopeful anticipation of the future they are about to share,” said Jim O’Ferrell, acoustic guitar and vocals. “We tried a few new things musically with this song,” he added. “None of us had heard Jason’s guitar leads until we got into the studio and started recording, and he blew our minds!”

The J.O.B. creates an original blend of Alternative Rock with Blues, Americana, and some Progressive Rock vibes in the mix. All four band members come from different musical backgrounds and share in the song writing process. “We didn’t grow up together,” said Jason Crawford, lead guitarist, “We all bring different musical influences into the band.”

Sparkle Blood - Restless.

Sparkle Blood is the kind of band that gets in, says exactly what they need to say, and gets out—no wasted time, no excess, just sharp, punchy songwriting delivered with total conviction. The Albera-based trio, Tyler Stewart on guitar and vocals, Bailey Kate on bass and vocals, and Bre Day on drums, lock into a sound that feels both scrappy and impossibly tight, balancing sweetly fuzzy guitars with driving rhythms and melodies that hit instantly.

There’s an easy chemistry between Stewart and Kate that calls back to the dynamic interplay of The Lemonheads and Pixies, while Day keeps everything grounded with a powerful, no-frills approach behind the kit. It’s hook-heavy, harmony-rich, and just rough enough around the edges to keep things interesting.

Their upcoming LP ZIP ZAP leans all the way into that energy, opening with “Mad About It,” a track that feels like a thesis statement, urgent, a little fed up, but still undeniably fun. From there, the band keeps things moving at a clipped, confident pace.

“Totally Ignorant” barrels through in under a minute and a half, landing its punch with the kind of efficiency you’d expect from Ramones or Guided by Voices, while songs like “Burning Barrel” and “I Don’t Know” stretch things just enough to let the hooks breathe, pulling from the timeless melodic instincts of Buddy Holly and the punchy edge of Buzzcocks and Hüsker Dü. Across the record, Sparkle Blood strike that sweet spot between catharsis and celebration, pairing real-world frustration with undeniable charm. It’s the kind of album that sneaks up on you, quick, catchy, and quietly addictive after just a couple of spins.

Tom Emlyn - Passing Craze (Album).

Swansea Singer-Songwriter 'Tom Emlyn' returns with a brand new album. 'Passing Craze' is released today Friday 15th May 2026. His 6th Studio album will be released Digitally, CD and Vinyl LP via Dirty Carrot Records. 'Passing Craze', Tom Emlyn's sixth solo album in four years, began as a final university project for Evan Collett, who produced the album. Evan and Tom both play in the psychedelic garage rock band Rainyday Rainbow. He needed to make an album for his final project in DBS, Bristol; a university that specialises in music production. DBS stands for Deep Blue Sound. Evan asked Tom if there was any unrecorded material to make another album.

A few forgotten gems, fragments and songs from years ago were unearthed, some of them going back to the first songwriting undertaken by Tom as a teenager. They seemed to fit together and felt like they had a thread running through them. Recording began in an amazing room at DBS, with an impressive, hugely expensive analog desk.

The tracks began with skeletal acoustic guitar, doubled in an Elliott Smith style, then embellished with drums, piano, electric guitar and harmonica. It was made more difficult by the university only allowing recording to be booked in three-hour sessions, meaning there was a rush to get the parts done, and it all took a bit longer than expected. Maybe that was a good thing in the end, though. After Evan finished his course, work resumed on the project at home in Cardiff. The project took on more of a bedroom pop sound  with more layers of guitar, vocals, trumpet, melodica, percussion by drummer Jack Patrick, and backing vocals by Alys Hardy. Evan added some interesting production flair, such as slide guitar and playing banjo with a violin bow; just trying to get interesting sounds and do things a bit differently.

Hannah & Nathan - Love & Labour (Album).

Hannah & Nathan have released their debut duo album 'Love & Labour' where the Ontario Folk duo blends old-time drive, lyrical balladry, and close harmony. Late one rainy night on a Northern Ontario highway, Hannah and Nathan were struck by an SUV en route to a weekend of shows. They walked away unscathed  and performed anyway. On the drive home, they made a decision: it was time to record together.

Love & Labour is their debut duo album, rooted in Appalachian and old-time traditions and shaped by a shared instinct for close harmony and acoustic interplay. Built around claw-hammer banjo, fiddle, and guitar, the record moves between driving, dance-ready tunes and spare, expressive ballads.

Both artists bring deep experience to the project. Hannah is a Canadian Folk Music Award–winning Traditional Singer of the Year (2017; nominee 2024), while Nathan’s band The Barrel Boys has earned multiple CFMA nominations. Since first performing together in 2022, their musical connection, especially their tightly blended vocals has become the defining feature of their sound.

Their singing is central: clear, intimate, and finely balanced. At times they trade lines; at others, their voices merge in close, parallel harmonies that echo bluegrass traditions while retaining the clarity of narrative folk song. The album features eleven tracks: seven originals, two traditional songs, a contemporary cover, and a set of original fiddle tunes. With the exception of the acappella “Turtle Dove,” each track highlights the rhythmic interplay of banjo and fiddle in open tuning, creating a sound that is at once raw, textured, and immediate.

JES x Spada - Mary Ocher - flyingdeadman - Brother Wallace - Futurebirds

JES x Spada - Everybody Wants to Rule the World.

Grammy-nominated artist JES and Italian producer Spada join forces for a bold reimagining of the classic Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Released tomorrow via Magik Muzik, the track blends JES’s unmistakable vocals with Spada’s refined melodic house production, bringing rolling basslines, crisp synth textures, and dynamic energy to a song that continues to resonate decades after its original release.

The collaboration highlights both artists’ strengths: JES’s ability to deliver emotionally charged performances and reinterpret familiar material with nuance, and Spada’s talent for crafting grooves that are both precise and captivating. The result is a version that feels immediate, cinematic, and club-ready, while remaining true to the iconic spirit of the original.

“I don’t do a lot of covers because I really have to feel a connection to the song,” JES shares. “‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ is one of those songs that sticks with you. When Spada sent me his version, I immediately felt it. His groove gave it new life but still left space for the emotion of the song. Working together was so natural, and I’m really proud of how it came together and the version we made.”

JES has helped to define the sound of modern electronic music, achieving #1 Billboard Dance hits and collaborating with artists like Tiësto, BT, Armin van Buuren, and ATB. Spada has built a global reputation for melodic house and techno productions that combine infectious energy with memorable hooks, earning support from tastemakers and festival stages worldwide. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to a song that continues to feel urgent and relatable, bridging timeless songwriting with undeniable electronic aesthetics.

Mary Ocher - Weimar (Album).

The adventurous Berlin artist returns with a surprising piano record, written on a classic instrument from the 1870s, marking a departure from recent experimentations with post-punk, krautrock, ambient and field recordings.

Weimar draws on 20th-century minimalism, chamber-pop, and modern classical. Yet it remains unmistakably Ocher, thoughtful and grounded in emotional depth. Its title alludes to the current era, echoing the fall of the Weimar Republic a century ago and the shadow of fascism that rose in its wake.

Born in Moscow to Jewish-Ukrainian parents and raised in Tel Aviv, she learned early on to question authority - and that it came at a hefty price. At twenty, after refusing the draft, she left for Berlin, where she became a central underground figure, known for her uncompromising mixture of music, art and politics and critical writing on nationalism and war.

Her recent releases include collaborations with Mogwai, King Khan, Die Tödliche Doris, Roberto Cacciapaglia and Felix Kubin, and homages to Delia Derbyshire and Dorothy Ashby / Omar Khayyam.

Their instrumental compositions, characterized by rich melodies and sensitive arrangements, are meticulously crafted to guide the listener through a world of evocative, sonic storytelling.

Brother Wallace - Who Do You Love?

Brother Wallace has a gift for making soul music that feels like a mirror and a release all at once, the kind that hits you in the chest, then gets you back on your feet. Today, the West Point, Georgia-bred singer, pianist, and soul revivalist shares 'Who Do You Love?' alongside a new music video, offering another powerful look into his forthcoming debut album 'Electric Love', out 8th May via ATO Records.

Where previous singles have introduced Wallace’s high-voltage joy and lived-in reflection, 'Who Do You Love?' sharpens the focus to a single, human question — equal parts invitation and reckoning. Anchored by Wallace’s unmistakable voice and a band-in-the-pocket pulse, the track rides a propulsive, dance-ready groove that feels both classic and immediate, letting the hook land like a challenge you can’t dodge. The accompanying video leans into that same bold simplicity, framing Wallace and band in a stylised performance setting that flickers between hyper-saturated colour fields and graphic, leopard-print backdrops, with a grainy, vintage-TV texture that makes the whole thing feel like a lost soul broadcast—loud colours, big feeling, no distractions.

“‘Who Do You Love?’ is a check-in—one of those questions you can’t run from forever,” says Wallace. “It’s not just about romance. It’s about where you’re putting your time, your energy, your attention… and whether the love you’re giving is coming back to you.”

“Who Do You Love?” continues the rapid rise of Brother Wallace, whose debut moment has already arrived with rare momentum for a brand-new artist. The album’s title track “Electric Love” premiered internationally via Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music, while Wallace’s first-ever ATO single “Who’s That?” hit Top 20 at Triple A radio in the U.S. — an impressive feat for a debut release, and especially notable given it wasn’t originally planned for radio servicing.

Futurebirds - Sienna Life (EP).

After nearly two decades in flight, the Athens, GA-born Futurebirds announced their first double album Far Out Country, set for release on June 5 via Dualtone Records. Produced by GRAMMY-winner Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman), the record is split into two distinct worlds of Far Out Country I & II —a restless, sunlit "day" and a deeper, more interior "night" that blends psychedelic country-rock, indie, and something that feels less like a genre than a place.

In a rare physical-first approach, the band will release the full project as a double vinyl on June 5, with the second half of the album arriving on streaming platforms months later, making vinyl the only way to experience the complete record early. Today, the group released the Sienna Life EP featuring three songs from Far Out Country I – “Sienna Life,” “Sleepless in the Cage,” and “Ghost Moon.”

Fronted by three distinct singer-songwriters – Daniel “Womz” Womack, Carter King, and Thomas “Tojo” Johnson – the band writes in conversation, their voices shaped by a shared history but diverging perspectives. Across 18 songs, Far Out Country unfolds like an honest dialogue about their transition to fathers and family men navigating the tension between the road that made them and their lives back home.

About the double album, King explains: “We’re really excited to be releasing our first double record in the truest sense. Far Out Country I & II are the two different lenses of the 3D movie glasses. Our three different songwriting perspectives speaking with each other about a shared life, experienced unbelievably close together, and also far apart. It’s a daytime talk, and another one deeper in the night. Far Out Country is a place, not a sound. It’s a place outside ourselves that hopefully helps us see inside the house a little more clearly. New terrain is always best explored with friends. Always use the buddy system, and be safe out there. The full double album will be available on vinyl out of the gates, but digitally, I & II will live and breathe on their own, unfolding one-at-a-time. Come on out and find us.”

Elle Celeste - The Pleasures - Michelle & Jason Hannan feat. Howard Parker - Blunt Chunks - Futurebirds & Carl Broemel

Elle Celeste - Call On Me.

When Elle Celeste started playing music for public consumption in her early twenties, she wanted to make the most amount of noise and be as wild as possible—screaming her head off and slapping audience members in the face as she fronted an acid rock band. She considered it a good gig, as long as she could hold a note long enough that it felt like she was going to pass out.

A lot has changed since then for the resident of Calgary, Alberta. In 2014, she and her primary musical collaborator Kirill Telichev formed the band Copperhead, making self-described “21st Century folk music” that blended punk, ambient and electronic sounds with traditional elements. Over the course of making two well-received independent albums, and sharing stages with the likes of Art Bergmann, Elliott Brood, Lindi Ortega, Terra Lightfoot and The Strumbellas, Elle got exposed to the wider music world and where she envisioned her place within it.

It’s led to Elle Celeste’s debut solo album, Call On Me—released independently today—which builds on the foundation that Copperhead laid, taking it into more expansive musical territory while delving deeply into Elle’s personal experiences through its lyrics. Although Telichev still played a major role in the creation of Call On Me, it became a moment when Elle felt confident in taking full control, making fully fleshed-out demos and harnessing the full range of her unmistakable, smoky voice, which some may liken to Sharon Van Etten or Cat Power’s Chan Marshall.

Recording got fully underway in December 2019 at the National Music Centre in Calgary, overseen by Casey McMechan, better known as the Techno DJ/producer Tyrek. When lockdown restrictions halted their work in the studio, sessions continued remotely over the next 18 months, with Telichev eventually coming on board to co-produce several tracks and mix the end results. In spite of all of that, Call On Me is a stunningly cohesive collection that utilizes modern technology to fully express Elle’s unflinching songwriting.

The Pleasures - Every Story Has Two Sides.

“Every Story Has Two Sides” is the hotly anticipated follow-up to The Pleasures’ barnstorming debut single “The Beginning of the End”.

As two of Australia’s most loved and respected country and Americana artists, the union between Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan was destined to turn heads - and “The Beginning of the End” certainly did that. Released in January of this year, it quickly lit up YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music, as well as scoring high rotation on Double J, ABC Country, ABC Local and iHeart Country. Add to that the support of CMT in Australia and the USA, and airplay on many programs in the UK, including shows across the BBC.

“Now it’s time for the next chapter”, says Lachlan of the new single. “Far from being a token duet, Every Story has Two Sides couldn’t exist without the both of us. It’s as much an argument as it is a song - filled with passion and desperation - when we sing this live it feels like we’re actually screaming at each other - and it felt like that in the studio too”.

The new release coincides with The Pleasures’ second short South Eastern tour, including a festival appearance at Dashville Skyline and live dates in Victoria and NSW. The band includes brilliant multi-instrumentalists Damian Cafarella and Brad Bergen on bass and drums, respectively.

"It's very exciting to be releasing another taste of this raucous project and to be hitting the road with the band again”,says Catherine. “Every bit of this record screams heartbreak and sticky pub floors and this next single is no exception to that!”

Michelle & Jason Hannan - Wastelands (feat. Howard Parker).

“’Wastelands’ is a song I wrote that compares the end of a long relationship with being trapped out in the badlands. I wanted to write something with a dark feel that would introduce the concept of the album, which mostly features songs from the darker side of life. Howard Parker’s pedal steel and dobro set the mood and Michelle just sings it to perfection,” says Jason Hannan, the song’s composer.

Besides Michelle (vocals), Jason (guitars, bass, mandolin, drums, vocals) and Howard (pedal steel, dobro), “Wastelands” features the talents of Patuxent Records recording artist Shannon Bielski on fiddle. Both the single and the upcoming album are produced by Jason Hannan and Howard Parker.

Michelle & Jason’s last album, Cheater’s Waltz, met with critical acclaim and was included on many country/Americana publications’ “best of” lists for 2021. As with Cheater’s Waltz, Michelle & Jason’s new album Out There in the Dark will feature the talents of Howard Parker on pedal steel guitar, dobro, and vocals.

Blunt Chunks - Wasted.

The Toronto-based project, Blunt Chunks, helmed by Caitlin Woelfle-O'Brien (of Jaunt) has today returned with her new single, "Wasted" which is out now as part of the Fire Talk Records Open Tab series. The new track follows the self-titled EP which was released in May via Telephone Explosion Records and found widespread acclaim.

The new single, "Wasted" finds Woefle-O'Brien – who collaborates with the likes of Scott Hardware and members of The Weather Station, Broken Social Scene and Luna Li as part of Blunt Chunks – wrapping forlorn piano around gentle, atmospheric percussion, melding this with her celestial vocals. She once again taps into her unique blend of spacious, psychedelic country to explore deep emotions and balance the light with the dark. Speaking about the track that comes produced by David Plowman (The OBGMs, Islands), Caitlin says:

"This was really fun and intense to do. I got together with my producers and a few good friends who are wicked musicians and we put this song together in a few days. It was different from the way we recorded the EP, which took more or less two years. David Plowman pulled not one, but TWO all-nighters because he had to catch a flight and needed to finish the song beforehand. Honestly, the last couple of days recording this song were hectic but I trusted in the process and David’s perfectionism. We had a few revisions and just kind of did the best we could in the minimal time we had. I think it turned out beautifully and also reminiscent of some 90’s songs I love, it’s giving Mazzy Star vibes a little bit."

Futurebirds & Carl Broemel -  Bloomin Too (E.P).

Indie rock band, Futurebirds, have teamed up with guitarist/producer Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket to create a new EP, Bloomin’ Too. Bloomin’ Too follows the releases of “Buffet Days”, “Sinz & Frenz”, and features the brand new track, “St. Teresa”.

Along with the EP release, today the Futurebirds announce the forthcoming release of the Bloomin' LP, a compilation of the two Bloomin' EPs into a full-length vinyl album. Delivered on heavyweight vinyl, the limited edition LP is expected to hit stores May 26, 2023.

Recorded at the legendary Ronnie’s Place in Nashville, two worlds collided building a sincere kinship and solidarity. Futurebirds’ Carter King says, “Carl is really in tune with what the band is and what it strives to be. He’s engaged and understands our vision…And it’s great to be able to defer to someone you respect so much with creative decisions in the studio…”

“Buffet Days”, “Sinz & Frenz”, and “St. Teresa” are all part of the seven-track collection which sets the tone and meaning. The EP in itself is “a vortex of sonic textures”, says writer Garret K. Woodward. He goes on to say that this, “album ricochets from cosmic space, rock to rough around the edges, alt-country dreamscapes, sandy beach bum odes to kick in your step pop ballads — all signature tones and musical avenues at the core of the Birds' wide musical palette.”
