Eileen Carey - Finally.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Eileen Carey unleashed her latest romantic single “Finally” in November and follows it up with her breathtaking music video. In creating the music video, Eileen Carey worked alongside her longtime collaborator producer-director Taner Tumkaya. Depicting a journey towards love, the stop motion animated music video is timeless and captivating.

With her single “Finally”, Eileen Carey amplifies those emotions we can’t describe with crystal clarity. “Strong emotions sometimes cry out for strong language,” Carey asserts. “These lyrics state in the plainest possible way what we feel but may be hesitant to say.” “Finally” also follows the international success of her chart-topping single “Meet Me Halfway”, released in May 2019. Both singles continue with Carey’s positive, uplifting musical style as well as her trademark take on love.

Currently, Eileen Carey is excited to share her vision for her single "Finally" with the official music video release. To continue through music, she will also be dazzling on stage with her band alongside Jefferson Starship on February 6th, at The Rose. Be sure to check out her social media for all details on her upcoming performance.

She has shared the stage with renowned acts such as Wilson Phillips, Don Mclean, Jefferson Starship, Rita Coolidge, The Motels, Albert Lee, Johnny Rivers, Peter Noone, and Tal Bachman.

Certain Animals - Songs To Make You Move.

Songs To Make You Move is the title track of the upcoming debut album by Certain Animals. From beginning to end it's a pounding, steamy rocker that sings about the good things in life. The band chants through the layers of fuzz about things that make life worthwhile for them: (animal) friends, a good glass of jajem at sunrise, sweat stains in your clothes after a killer show, the relief of pain in your bum, but mainly the power of music.

In a polyphonic and catchy chorus, the band emphasizes that whoever you are, or whatever you like, a good piece of music moves you and makes you move mentally and physically. When after two and a half minutes a sound starts that can easily compete with the roar of a concorde taking off, the listener can only move along with it.

Rotterdam based trio Certain Animals serves you melodic rock filled with vocal harmonies. The members aren't afraid to show which records they've been listening to. Musical giants from the 60's and 70's are spinning on their turntable on a daily basis. The Beatles, Beach Boys, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Electric Light Orchestra are regular companions in their musical life, but also the fuzzy and phasey sounds of contemporary bands like Tame Impala influence the music of Certain Animals. Without being stuck in the past and with a critical view on the present, the band brings you their intriguing sound which makes for an energetic live show filled with intimate moments and explosive bursts of energy.

In less then three years, the band managed to build a strong live reputation by playing shows on major Dutch festivals in famous venues all over the country. After having played across the border in Belgium, more international gigs in Germany have been confirmed for spring 2020.

While busy touring, band members Thijs van Leeuwen (vocals, guitars), Niels-Jan van Dijk (bass, vocals) and Kees Braam (drums, vocals) managed to build their own recording studio at a former red light district in the port of Rotterdam. At their home base the trio writes, produces and mixes their music single-handedly, working towards the release of their debut album scheduled for spring 2020.

Kiwi Jr. - Gimme More.

Ahead of the January 17th world-wide release of their highly infectious debut album Football Money, Kiwi Jr. have shared a video for the LP’s "Gimme More."

Of the video the Toronto-based band say, “it was shot mostly at our favourite bar in Toronto - Black Dice Cafe. It's a rockabilly bar and though Kiwi Jr is very unhip to that scene, we tried to pay it justice by wearing leather jackets. We've had probably every band meeting we've ever had at that bar, and the owner Hidecki was nice enough to let us shoot there as long as we didn't break anything (which we did during load in before we even started shooting).” It was directed by Sean Foreman who states, "we wanted the video to feel like it was based off dream logic. Things don’t make sense, the band keeps popping up, rooms are oddly connected somehow, it’s nonsense but at the same time there seems to be some undercurrent of reason guiding things."

Previous to today’s video Kiwi Jr have shared the album’s title track and “Salary Man.” Football Money will be released world-wide via Persona Non Grata Records (following debut EP by Pip Blom). The album had a Canadian release this past March on Mint Records. The album was engineered by Aaron Goldstein, and mixed by Holy Fuck's Graham Walsh. The band have been confirmed to play SXSW in Austin, Texas in March. Before that, they'll head over to the UK for shows in Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and at London's Waiting Room on January 29th 2020.

All natives of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Kiwi Jr. are now based in Toronto and much of their songwriting is informed by the city that surrounds them. They have spent the last 5 years honing their craft both in the studio and live, including opening spots with Wolf Parade, New Pornographers and Alvvays.

Football Money was recreated at high volume on stages across Canada; a dispatch stitched out of fragments, a lustrous twelve-string paint-job unraveling ten book smart tracks in under thirty minutes. A product of two years of labor, a monument to work-life balance, the record is not unattractively scarred by its circumstance: recorded by nightfall in dormant studios, friends and enemies drafted as backup singers and engineers, the LP untidily fuses the yin of work with the yang of life, chronicling a dual-existence, unkempt instrumentalists moonlighting as under compensated administrators by the harsh fluorescent light of day, borne back ceaselessly into the Greater Toronto Area by night.

Green and Glass - Gabriel.
Green and Glass are an avant-pop group from Brooklyn led by harpist and vocalist Lucia Stavros, and flanked by multi-instrumentalist Sam Decker (Secret Sibling), trumpeter Andrew McGovern (High and Mighty Brass Band), drummer David Flaherty (Cuddle Magic), and bassist Ryan Dugre (Landlady). On February 14, the band will release their self-titled debut album on 11A Records. Their latest single, "Gabriel," premieres today at Post-Trash, who've called it "a majestic pop song that soars far beyond this realm."

On Green and Glass, glimmering synth ballads sit alongside powerful rock epics, with Stavros’s forceful vocals providing vitality and soul. With multiple songwriters and an eclectic instrumentation -- harp, synths, and horns set against drums and bass -- the band draws from disparate influences, but keeps melody at the forefront. The horns (played by McGovern and Decker) alternate between sublime and razor-sharp, and amplify the mood of each moment, while harp and synths float high above the drums and bass (played by Flaherty and Dugre) to create a driving orchestral sound. At its core, Green and Glass is a collection of songs both direct and mysterious, simple and complex; a car ride in a dusky town, a dream full of dizzying light.

In a statement to Post-Trash about "Gabriel," the band shares: "'Gabriel' is about a figure that follows you around, absorbing some of what the world throws at you, like a hobbled guardian angel. Slightly mysterious, and always in the peripheral, it depicts an avatar of the mundane and profound. A pastoral epic, with perhaps the broadest scope of any song on the record, Gabriel finds its center in the interwoven guitar and harp ostinato which serves as the base for layers and layers of sound, all moving toward the joyous final chorus which is equally bright and heavy."

"Gabriel" will be available as an instant grat track with pre-orders of the album via Bandcamp. Green and Glass will be released on February 14.

Chelsea Rose - Sofia Härdig - Certain Animals

Chelsea Rose has released 'Minha Velha Amiga' accompanied by a video. I was trying to come up with an expression that captures the song and the best I can do is bossa nova dream pop, whatever this is gorgeous. === Our third song feature from Sofia Härdig's new album 'This Big Hush' is the new single 'Sucking The Flowers'. Another feisty rocker and one of nine songs on the album Sofia has served up some really fine rock and roll across the album. === Rotterdam's Certain Animals were first featured on Beehive Candy last month and now we have another new song entitled 'Automaton' where this talented trio deliver another refined alt rocker that builds into a highly notable piece.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea Rose - Minha Velha Amiga.

Chelsea Rose is a songstress and sorceress of the arts. Channeling through guitar, songwriting and visual arts, she shines an honest light on human truths. Themes of hope, heartache, love and its counterparts are prevalent in her work.

Born and raised in Riverside, CA Chelsea currently lives in Los Angeles. Through songwriting and self producing she conjures a timeless yet modern sound which echoes sentiments of bossa nova, jazz and R&B classics. As a photographer and art director, Chelsea's artistic eye enables her to carefully craft a visual dream world in which one may easily be swept away. The vision is strong; a vibrant perspective often arises from destruction.

The creation of Chelsea Rose began with a flood. A pipe burst in her home studio, causing water to fill the room, covering drums, amps, guitars and other prized equipment. The scene took place the night before her final show as Summer Twins - a band she spearheaded for 10 years, backed by her sister, Justine.

Asking the Universe for a clean slate, she was given just that. With the ending of a chapter she was gifted the opportunity to explore a new identity, to explore what it means to exist and grow as an artist in the modern world. This enlightenment gave rise to a new band in which Chelsea Rose takes center stage on lead guitar and vocals, backed by Andy Moran on guitar, Seamus Blackwell on bass, Charlie Weinmann on drums and Alice Sandahl on keyboard.

This band thrives on a high frequency. Their powerful performance recalls a dream of the past while igniting a hope for the future. Chelsea Rose beckons you to join in and see the world "la vie en rose."

Sofia Härdig - Sucking The Flowers.

Having released her new album “This Big Hush” earlier this month, Sofia Härdig now captivates with her high-energy track “Sucking The Flowers” that runs with infectious riffs, built on layers of scrappy percussion reminiscent of The Birthday Party or Pixies, and embellished with Sofia’s vocals as she sings “We call us in, to inner crimes, it’s tender, it’s sore, an attempt, to murder, it’s tender, it’s sore”.

With squalling guitars and vivid colours the Swedish-born multi-insturmentalist Sofia Härdig creates a cinematic vignette delivered through the poet’s eccentric palette of post-punk, playing and producing the entirety of the album. Sofia brings chugging energy, intense lyricism and a chaotic presence; she’s heading for a higher status amongst rock’s elite, and comments on the moment she met Patti Smith; “We met backstage at her gig in Stockholm and she gave me tickets to her show. We spoke about art, music and what it means to be an artist. She was generally very supportive and attentive; it was a beautiful moment sharing poetry and words.”

Talking about her fourth full-length, Sofia said “I recorded this album with the band in less than three days live in Tambourine Studios in Malmö. The vocals were all done in one day, a lot of them are even kept from the original live take. Part of the process is that my electronic demo making has become so thorough and time-consuming that they have been good enough to be released. Since they are out in the world and out of my system, I can break free and do something different with the band, and not the same thing all over again. We never play the same tempo, same length, they follow me where I lead them… this is THIS BIG HUSH”.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Certain Animals - Automaton.

New Certain Animals single Automaton is the opening track of the upcoming album 'Songs To Make You Move' and immediately lets you hear what the band stands for in terms of style and content. The song tells about the uneasy relationship the three band members have with the far-reaching automation and digitization of contemporary life. In their view, nowadays people allow themselves to be led like little lambs to where tech giants and social media lead them.

The trio brings a message to the listener and at the same time a warning that is not merely bad or good, but that gives the listener food for thought. This message is wrapped in a song with an opening riff that seems to have been borrowed from the amplifier-melting arsenal of Neil Young and which then continues the pace with a relentless groove reminiscent of a marching column of robots. When the warning sounds, one arrives through typical "Ringo-fills" and "I Am The Walrus" orchestration to the final round ironically carried out with one of the favorite toys of Electric Light Orchestra: the vocoder (a device that actually is a speech computer).

Shadowlands - Certain Animals - North America

Ahead of the new album '003' Shadowlands have released a video for 'Low'. The song is a good introduction for the new collection of material and is one of eight consistently impressive tracks where the bands rich mixture of warm layered sounds which span a number of rock genres support the fabulous, emotional and beautiful vocals. If you like 'Low' then next months album release is a must hear.

From Rotterdam we have Certain Animals and 'Strawberry Sunset' which opens as bluesy rocker, before morphing into an old time psychedelic piece where the vocals and harmonies are just wonderful, this is hugely addictive!

North America have just released a new single entitled 'Leave Us To Fate'. Back in August we shared 'My Baby's No One's Girl' describing that song as "a melodic and earnest indie rock song that is lush and just so natural". With the new single they up the stakes even higher, this is just gorgeous.

Shadowlands - Low.

Shadowlands has announced their new LP entitled "003" and unveiled the first single via the video for "Low."

When Shadowlands’ guitarist of four years announced he was leaving the band for personal reasons, band vocalist and lead songwriter Amy Sabin was grappling with the recent death of a close friend. With the first few songs from third album "003" already underway, she was struggling to find direction with this loss. Enter Amy’s identical twin sister, Angie. Despite performing together as kids, they had never played in a band together, or ever fully considered the idea. Whether through their shared experience, shared DNA, or some other connection, Angie instinctively knew that she was a candidate for the open guitar role. Through a series of late night texts over the vision and shared desire to keep the band alive, Shadowlands was reborn. The band played one of Portland’s most popular venues just one month after Angie joined, followed by their first Treefort Fest Appearance.

Amy’s music explores anxiety, fear, depression, and isolation. Sabin’s songs sometimes contain moments of joy and subtle irony, a reminder that life can be hopeful and at times requires levity to persevere. Warm analog synths, shimmery guitar, and intricate rhythms carry you through these emotions made real by Amy’s dynamic voice and heartbreakingly vulnerable lyrics. The band is rounded out by Amy’s husband Casey Logan on drums and Amy’s “band husband” (she jokes it’s an official title earned after 15+ years playing in bands together), Jesse Elizondo on bass.

Shadowlands will release "003" on November 22nd and the band will celebrate with a release show on November 23rd at the Fixin To in Portland Oregon.

Certain Animals - Strawberry Sunset.

Rotterdam based trio Certain Animals serves you melodic rock filled with vocal harmonies. The members aren't afraid to show what records they've been listening to. Musical giants from the 60's and 70's are spinning on a daily basis on their turntable.

After having played across the border in Belgium, other international gigs in Germany have been confirmed for spring 2020.

While busy touring, band members Thijs van Leeuwen (vocals, guitars), Niels-Jan van Dijk (bass, vocals) and Kees Braam (drums, vocals) managed to build their own recording studio at a former red light district in the port of Rotterdam. At their home base the trio wrtes, produces and mixes thir music single-handedly, working towards the release of their debut album scheduled for spring 2020.

Strawberry Sunset is the first single of the album, which shows the band's new sound. The trio doesn't pretend to be tougher than it is and isn't rougher than what the song demands. The love for music does not only show in the massive record collections of the individual members, but also in their new single. Honesty is shown when it comes to their musical influences.

North America - Leave Us To Fate.

East London quintet North America release new single ‘Leave Us To Fate’.  A rolling ballad encompassed in ethereal guitar work, the song is a bittersweet reflection on love’s subjugation to fate.

Frontman P.F. Phillip says, “Leave Us To Fate is a bittersweet goodbye to a love now lost, a reminiscence of a romance that inevitably could not be.” Torn apart by separation, the protagonist encourages himself and his former lover to live and carry on, while admitting to a hopeless desire that they meet again in an unknown future.

Written, recorded, produced and released by the band themselves, 'Leave Us To Fate' is a cathartic release of emotion that encapsulates the band's lyrical poeticism and sense of indie grandeur.

North America are a London based 5-piece creating viscerally energetic and introspective indie-rock that embodies the anthemic quality of their songwriting. Hailing from São Paulo and California, frontman P.F. Phillip met guitarists Gabe Coulter, Jack Rennie, bassist Sandro Giacometti and drummer Sam Roberts at the world famous Metropolis Studios before forming North America in 2017 over a refined appreciation of trashy American comedies and questionable pizza joints.
