Neilson Family - Dreamaway - Nature TV - ell ivy - Stephanie Owens - Mr Ben & The Bens - Populuxe - Hayley Reardon

Out today Neilson Family have a video for 'TV' taken from their brand new 'Double Life' album. The song itself is vibrant jangle pop, with cool harmonies and the juxtaposition of being fresh and yet timeless in it's sound. Dreamaway have released 'American Illusion' which is a fabulous indie pop song. The lyrics are a little bit protest, the music is stylish, and the chorus harmonies are just wonderful.   Yet another high class indie band from Brighton (England) this time we have Nature TV and their latest track 'She Wants To See You Cry,' which is a polished and heartfelt affair. ell ivy hails from Grimsby, England a town that at one time was renowned for it's huge fishing trawler fleet (nothing like a spot of history). Anyhow ell ivy deserves some attention as the new song 'Still Dreaming' is a delicious singer-songwriter piece, that reminds me a little of Beth Orton, now there's a compliment. We have a lyric video for a fi

Katie Burden - Maybird - Michael Colton - Frederick The Younger - Lake Jons

Katie Burden shares 'Edge of Sleep' an imaginative art rock piece, she disappeared off our radar after we featured 'I Can See It Clear' back in 2016, so it looks like I have some catching up to do. === From Maybird we have a new video for 'In Technicolor' a smooth and refined psychedelic rock song with the video making a splendid accompaniment. === Singer songwriter Michael Colton has a brand new single entitled 'Brother' where the blues rock artist is more immersed in a folk vibe, his rich voice resonating beautifully. === Returning for a seventh time on Beehive Candy Frederick The Younger have released the song and video for 'Something Real'. Their ability to develop melodic and engaging alt pop (with or without a retro vibe) is consistently incredible. === Lake Jons have really impressed us this year and now we have a video and third song from their current album as they share 'Circle' where the duo are possibly spoilt for choice wh

Saltwater Sun - Future Lives - Hope Waidley - Kaola Queen - Sariyah Idan - alexdgoldberg - Colie

Saltwater Sun were featured a couple of times earlier this year and return today with the blistering indie rocker 'Mouthbreather' with a hint or two of grunge packed in. === Future Lives shared a video for 'Huckabee' a short while back and having reviewed a track from their first album, it's good to know the second album is on the way from these talented Americana music folk. ===   Hope Waidley has released 'Born Again' where her fabulous vocals are showcased above a stripped back musical arrangement. === Norway's Kaola Queen have released a bluesy rocker entitled 'Time' with bags of energy. === We have a beautiful soulful song from Sariyah Idan entitled 'You Got To Go' with some fine jazz vibes in the music. === Taking us into some orchestral territory alexdgoldberg new song 'Stay The Same' is a fabulously creative and rather addictive affair. === Finally today Colie has a brand new single 'Half Of What You Are' a

The Montreals - Pallab Sarker - Warbly Jets - Niteshifters - DeQn Sue - Shannon Lay

The Montreals - deadheads. Background - Regarded as one of “the next big things in Australian Music” (5Why), The Montreals, are a slick indie-rock outfit from Adelaide, South Australia. After kicking the door down with their debut EP Indigo Club in late-2016, the band successfully toured nationally and performed in support for internationally successful acts including Alpine, Last Dinosaurs, Andy Bull, Hey Geronimo & Dorsal Fins. Mixed by Magoo (The Jungle Giants, Art vs. Science) and mastered by Steve Smart of Studio 301 (British India, Vance Joy), the 3-track record garnered hundreds of thousands of streams on streaming services worldwide. The highly anticipated release of their first single of 2017, ‘deadheads.’, is the exclamation point on a breakout debutant year.  In short, ‘deadheads.’ is an ode to Australian youth culture. The penniless slaves to a liquor-fuelled good time, always counting loose change to make rent, but squandering at dingy clubs on weeknights. Sonical

Midweek Muse: Thrushes - Day One - Tiger Choir - East Of Here

Thrushes - Joan Of Arc. Background (with bird facts) - Thrushes; part of the Passerine bird family. The songs of some species are considered to be among the most beautiful in the avian world. Baltimore's Thrushes bring a similar beauty to the human world with Exposing Seas, their first full length in 5 years.  Formed in 2005, the band's previous efforts (2007's Sun Come Undone and 2010's Night Falls) garnered the kind of glowing praise most indie acts could only hope for. Now, with Seas and its swirling, reverb-drenched guitars and dreamy, yet plaintively delivered vocals, the album brings to mind a mix of the classic shoegaze era-gone-by, Hounds of Love 'Bush-isms' and a splash of 90's emo-progenitors Rainer Maria resulting in Thrushes most focused work to date.  On the band's approach to this new album, singer Anna says "Exposing Seas is an album that shows our growth as a band. We worked so hard over the past few years to create songs that

LIA - Deva St. John - Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes

Image
We have the brand new E.P from LIA entitled 'Vasilia'. Her striking vocals, at times intricate musical backdrops and more often personal yet highly relatable lyrics, are at the least beautiful and occasionally simply incredible. === From Deva St. John we have 'The Information Age' which opens with synths, Morse code and drums and explodes into action with energised vocals, as this feisty alt rock song grabs hold of our ears. === Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes returns for a fourth appearance here with 'Moon' the second single we have the pleasure of sharing ahead of a new album due next year, from this gorgeous indie pop/rock band. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LIA - Vasilia (E.P). LIA has just released her new EP called 'Vasilia'. Here are LIA's thoughts on the latest E.P. "I wrote this EP as I was coming into myself. It was a period of my life when I learned how to love
